Why Verge Atelier
A workshop built around the piece, not the clock.
Thorough Assessment
Every watch is examined before any work begins. You receive a plain account of its condition before we proceed.
Written Records
Each completed service comes with documentation — what was found, what was done, and what to watch for going forward.
Workshop-Grade Tools
Horology-specific equipment — from timing machines to ultrasonic baths — used on every service regardless of scope.
Honest Conversation
No pressure, no jargon. If a piece needs less than you expected, we say so.
Collector Understanding
Antique and heritage pieces require a different kind of care. We recognise original patina and treat it accordingly.

Questions
Common enquiries
How long does a service typically take?
Simple Care Visits are typically completed within two to three working days. The Mechanical Restoration Service usually takes one to two weeks depending on current workshop load. Cabinet Piece Restorations are scoped individually — a timeline is discussed and agreed at the start, and you receive staged updates throughout.
Do you provide a quote before starting?
Yes. We assess the piece first and share what we find. If the scope or cost differs from what you expected, you're free to take the watch back with no charge. We begin work only once you're comfortable with the plan.
Can you service watches from any brand?
We work across a wide range of makes and calibres, from Japanese quartz movements to Swiss mechanical pieces. Certain specialist brands may require manufacturer tooling we don't carry — we'll say so during assessment rather than attempt work that falls outside our scope.
What happens to replaced parts?
Replaced components are set aside and available for you to collect with the watch if you'd like them. This is particularly common with original straps, crystals, or crowns during a restoration — some owners prefer to keep originals even when they've been replaced.
Is a Cabinet Piece Restoration appropriate for my family heirloom?
It's the service we'd point you toward. We approach heritage pieces conservatively — preserving original surfaces and character where possible rather than refinishing for the sake of newness. The work is documented in full, so the history of the piece remains clear.
Are your prices fixed or can they change after I bring the watch in?
The listed prices are starting points. A Simple Care Visit or Mechanical Restoration will typically fall at or near the listed figure for standard pieces. If assessment reveals something unexpected that would change the scope, we discuss it with you before proceeding — the final cost is always agreed before work continues.
